I was born and lived in Broomhall for 44 years. Growing up in Broomhall was such a fascinating and fun place to live. Not just fascinating for the day-to-day life of family, friends and love. But equally, friendship and security of a community. The Broomhall Centre has always been part of my life. From the early days, attending the youth club, Girls group, dance groups and the Broomhall Carnival. One of my first meetings was being member of a steering group to set up a nursery in Springfield School. The plans materialised and Springfield School now have a Nursery, which has been open for a number of years. I gained my first degree in Linguistics at The University of Sheffield. My studies continued at Sheffield Hallam University, were I gained a first B.Ed Teaching Degree. I have been a teacher for 28 years. My teaching career started at Springfield School the school in which I attended as a child. I have worked in numerous schools in Sheffield and the surrounding regions of South Yorkshire.
